homecoming at shsu is very close. saturday in fact. a few of my friends and a former teacher of mine are making a road trip up to huntsville to go to the game and visit and whatnot. im very excited. i dont have a ticket yet, but im sure i'll get one soon enough. the former teacher of mine is my journalism teacher. he is probably the most influencial teacher i've ever had. he got me more interested in photography. his class was fun. his class helped shape who i am today. another thing about his class was that the people in it were the best people in the world. my best friend was in the class. another extremely influential person. i love this person. i always will. one of our favorite things to do together was take pictures. we inspired each other and always get pictures we knew we would remember forever. i havent had a picture like that since we were separated. i havent felt near as inspired as i did then.

i seem to be getting more and more attached to my dorm/apartment. its finally homey enough for me to feel like i'm not at a hotel and it doesnt smell like foot anymore. i put up some new posters in our living room and i put together my roommates shelf so there wasn't just a cardboard box leaning against the wall.  the shelves are still empty, and the posters dont have frames, but its still a step towards normal and home. which i'm starting to miss a lot more.

so we had our first test in political science. the teacher said that the average grade for the first test was a 58. but guess what, i got an 82!! im awesome, and i didn't study very hard. it really wasnt a very hard test actually. im going to be disappointed in my class if others did poorly. oh well. alot of people just dont come to class. thats good reason i fail i guess.

in other news, im becoming slightly obsessed with cubing. (the act of solving a rubik's cube with great speed) it's fun! plus, me and a friend are getting these awesome speed cubes. the come lubed! im such a freak.
